Inspiration

The Fibonacci numbers are natures numbering system. You can find the Fibonacci sequence throughout the natural world; in the opposing spiral patterns visible in the sunflower and pine cone, in the expanding coil of the nautilus shell, through to spiralling galaxies. The Fibonacci numbers are applicable to the growth of every living thing including a single cell, a grain of wheat, a bee hive and even all mankind. This order in nature is fascinating to me and inspired me to create this piece of work.

The folded Aluminium elements create a sense  of depth. Each unit is originally flat until folded, the folds cast shadows that create an incredible 3D illusion of floating cubes.
