Pinecone
There aren’t many sculptors who have attempted to carve a pinecone, and having done so i know why, it really was a labour of love! The clockwise and counter clockwise intersecting spirals follow the Fibernachi sequence which is found throughout nature from the spiral on a snails shell to the movements of galaxies. My pinecone has over 150 segments which had to be worked and reworked and reworked before i was satisfied with its symmetry.
The Pinecone is a floor based piece and as it has no sharp edges can be sat on and jumped off, as my kids will testify! I can make the pine cone in cold cast bronze, slate or cold cast copper. This is a limited edition piece. £2,200
